Well hello. Sorry we haven't been doing so well keeping you up to date with the house. We went away to PA for our vacation at the lake, and it takes me awhile to get back in the routine of things after such wonderful, lazy, relaxing days up there. I'll post pics of that soon, but for now...let me show you the house! All the mess has been cleaned up...as you can see and they have started the framework! Wick's bedroom and our bedroom is to the left when you walk into our house. The stairs are going in between our two bedrooms, so we had to make both of our rooms alittle smaller. Wick's bedroom was already bigger than ours, so we took most of space we needed out of his room. A lot of other work has been done under the house, like digging the holes and providing support for the new stairs going in.

I am standing in our bedroom looking at the stairs (Where the hole in the ground is)

Wick is looking out his bedroom WindowSo, let me just tell you, that at the cottage at the lake (ironically we were just there), the are ceilings are painted this green and blue color. I love it so much I take pictures of the ceiling...every year...like a crazy person. I told Ben that one day we are going to do that to our house here. I think it makes the room feel so good. I am OBSESSED it. I love that texture and the color.
Here's a few:
Because I love beadboard (tongue and groove, wainscoating...whatever you want to call it) I had already made plans to use it in the bathrooms or backsplash in the kitchen. Here is an example of some inspiration I've pulled...so you can follow me better here...

In fact, it was in our closets, and I had them take it out carefully and save the wood, to possibly recycle and use somewhere else in the house. Another exciting discovery we found was the beadboard underneath the ceiling tiles in all the rooms except for the kitchen. Not only is it BEAUTIFUL, but it gave us an extra foot of height. When John and Ben found it, Ben texted me the picture and said, "Look what we found under the ceiling tile"...I almost peed in my pants. Our bedroom's ceiling is painted this gorgeous blue green color so close to the lake's. How weird is that? I think that I am going to keep the color in our bedroom...maybe doctor it up alittle to look more the the cottage at the lake, and keep the rest of the house white. How cool would it be to make our room feel like our favorite place we spend together?! It would be amazing to wake up every morning in our bedroom and feel like we were at the lake. Can you tell I'm excited about this!?!
The kitchen has been gutted. They are going to be ripping up the floors next and replace the subflooring. New walls will be put in here also. The window will be replaced but is staying in the same spot. The sink will go under that window. I can do dishes and watch my boy play in the back yard :)
Kitchen with the Pizza Hut light (as I call it)
