We wanted to be in before Christmas soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. I can't believe it's 2011 and we still aren't in. Everyone asks when we think we'll be in but we just don't know. Just when we think we are close, we realize something is going to take much longer. I am at peace and have learned that setting a date is asking for disappointment. One thing that did not disappoint me was my Christmas present. I will have to take pictures, but Ben made me a headboard and footboard out of vintage doors. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
This experience has taught us so much, not only about remodeling and renovation, but about things we take for granted so often in life. I long for the days that it's just Ben, myself, and Wick. (and the pup)
I can't wait to have a good nights sleep again. I want to cook in my kitchen and know where everything is and not be paranoid about making a mess or having the dishes washed. I want to let my laundry go and my room be a mess and not feel judged if I don't keep it up. I want Wick's sleeping schedule back to normal and I want him to sleep in his OWN room in his OWN bed. I want to stop worrying Wick is going to break, stain, or ruin something that isn't ours. When I get sick I want to puke in my own toilet. (gross but true) I want to argue with Ben and not hope someone doesn't hear us. I want privacy. I want to be the queen bee in the house...the only female. call me a diva.I want my own Christmas tree....I want to be in a space that is clutter free and organized. I want my stuff out of storage and stop using everyone else's stuff. I want to have friends over to our house again...I miss that so much. Ok I'll stop there. You get the picture. and this post may seem pointless to you, but when we do move, and i start to forget how good i have it, i want to look back on this and remember.
but for now, because I don't like blogs without pictures, here is our current living quarters. it's crammed full of my vintage finds for the new house (particularly chairs), clothes, and ben's shoe collection (and these are ONLY the ones that HAD to come...the rest are in storage). here is the famous twin sized bed that we've been sleeping in and joked with so many of you about. and no, i don't make the bed. my mom would be so embarassed. i made our other bed everyday because i wanted to be excited to get in it all nice and tidy..and it made the room look pretty. there is no hope for this room or this bed. therefore...i'm not wasting my time. :)
this is the bed Wick never sleeps on:
uh oh...i see a very cool clutch!!! Love you!
